"I'M EATING HEALTHY BUT NOT LOSING WEIGHT!"
"Oh hey Lisa, Oh yes I am eating healthy but not following your diet plan"
Ring a bell?
If I had a euro for every time I heard the above, followed by "damn my body hasn't really changed at all", then I would be minted!
Do you get frustrated with "eating healthy" but not changing and not feeling any different?
I bet you do! You have been there before, maybe you're currently there.
Here's the deal, "I don't sit down and randomly make up a diet plan in my head for someone or for a bootcamp/online plan, I sit down and make sure that diet plan will improve the persons health, drop weight/body fat, help increase muscle tone/condition, steer the body away from an acidic state into an alkalised state to prevent illness as well as making them glow outside AND inside.
There will always be enough calories and nutrients, carbs, fats and protein to ensure no one goes hungry or starves themselves while still losing weight.
A plan is in place for a reason, always!
If you go day to day without really monitoring what you're eating but still eating what's "healthy" in your eyes, you won't see a huge change. Granted for the first week or 2 you probably will, but after that, your body will at some point hit a plateau.
Unfortunately, this is where most people give up! When talking to their best friend, the conversation goes like this; "Ah sure Mary, it wasn't working for me at all I must be just big boned, sure I was having fruit smoothies for breakfast and didn't have a chippie in 2 whole weeks and still nothing changed!"
Let me tell you, nothing changed because you didn't follow your plan that was made for you!
Fruit is healthy, meat is healthy, potatoes are healthy, unless they are in the right proportions, you're gonna overeat too much of the one thing and the other foods will sit on the back burner. This means you won't get the nutrients needed for you body to change!
No point having a typical healthy bowl of oats first thing in the morning and saying you're healthy if you're eating zero vegetables all day, everything has it's place for a reason.
I'm sure many coaches will agree with me here, one of the most frustrating things is when you see so much potential in a client, you know you can help them change their lifestyle, you KNOW you can change their body shape but sometimes it juts takes them a few weeks to realise; "Hey, my way isn't working, maybe I should listen to my coach". Patience is key in this situation!
As I always say in my bootcamps, I only see most of my girls for 3-4 hours a week max. There's another 159 hours in the week, THAT is where the magic happens! Those other hours where you are left to live your life. Those hours are where it counts. I can guide you and motivate you but I need you doing the work at home. Starvation is a no no. We want food, real food!
For anyone reading this, no matter who your coach is (unless he is a d*** hehe I joke ;) ) and if you're currently on a journey to better your health but haven't yet "started the diet", I ask you to put trust in your coach and the process involved. Us coaches care for you, we love improving health and lifestyle, we love seeing the glow on your face, we love seeing you get stronger, we LOVE what we do and want you to love it too! Use us to your best advantage!
So next time you wonder if there's any point, ask yourself are you really trying?
All fitness/health journeys are personal, we all have different goals, we all do it differently, we all ideally just want to feel better in life. Give it your all, come on, what do you have to lose?
You will not get there all at once, but you will get there, I pinky promise.
